Jane was 20-years-old when she became a victim of date rape. A student at the time, Jane didn’t report because she was afraid that no one would believe her.

When Jane found out she was pregnant, both her family and friends encouraged her to terminate her pregnancy. When she refused she was told to place her child up for adoption. Jane considered that but ultimately decided to raise her son herself.

While some may question how a mother can love a child conceived in rape, Jane says of her son: “My heart overflows with the most incredible love for him — a love that until him I never even knew existed. I do believe that I have a normal life. I now have 4 beautiful children and an absolutely wonderful husband who adopted my son and loves him as his own.”
