Gary’s mother was 17 years old when she was violently raped in the back of a car.  When she discovered she was pregnant, she faced enormous pressure from her family to abort her baby.  When she refused, her parents kicked her out of the house.
 
Gary’s mother moved away and raised her son on her own.  Despite the enormous difficulties she faced, Gary reports that he always felt “loved and cherished” by his mother.  “It was one of those pillars of life – that I knew she loved me no matter what.”
 
When Gary found out that he was conceived in rape, he was shocked but he was also filled with admiration and gratitude for his mother and all she had gone through.  He said, “She had actually decided to keep me, despite all the odds.  She loved me so much that she was going to keep me.”

Gary is now the Pastor of the Lighthouse Church in Dover in the UK.
